You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.

The last few year has been filled with very sweet and sorrowful moments. I am thankful to say that even the sad times have been full of sweetness, even though our human hearts have been heavy and crying out for peace, our spirits have been able to rejoice knowing our loved ones are finally in their eternal homes.

I am thankful we have a Counselor who understands our every pain and burden here on earth and can identify with our pain. A Lord and Savior who is not far off, but feels our pain, and catches every tear in his hand.

As the children knelt at the end of the flag draped box Taps played as the family looked on. The flag was lifted, carefully folded and inspected, and handed up the ranks. Finally on bended knee it was passed to Jettie Marie Samanie. Respects were paid to Grampie Donald Samanie, by the ranking soldier who rose and saluted Jettie, with flag embraced, Jettie raised her hand to mirror his. We all watched and whispered our last goodbyes on this earth, and prayers for sadness to fade. The children observed a family not torn by death, but joined by victory over eternal death. Goodbye for now to all those finished with this race. See you soon!

Grannie joined Grampie just a few short months later...
